Marcie called us on Thursday about her 13-inch Unibody Macbook. It was her daughter’s computer, and she had no idea how the glass cracked. She ended up buying a new one, and transferring everything over to the new one using Migration Assistant, so she had her old one with broken glass just gathering dust.
We scheduled a repair for today in New York City and met her at her apartment on East 58th St. She was home from work for the day so it worked out perfectly. 45 minutes later, and her “old” computer was now as good as “new”.

Garrett has been without the use of his 13-inch Unibody Macbook for the last two months. He told us that he had no idea how the LCD of his computer got broken. He admitted that he was out late the night before, opened up his computer the next morning, and saw the damage. He then took it to Springboard Media and Bundy Computer, and both places told him that it would be $100 just to look at the computer.
Garrett decided that he would just use his iPhone, netbook, and larger Windows laptop. He was fine with this setup, but when he saw our Septa train ad at Temple University, he went on his iPhone and checked out our website. He called us up, learned about the process, and wanted the repair done as soon as possible.
We met him at his apartment in Olde City, and Garrett thought it would be easier to do a pickup/dropoff instead of the repair in his home. He has two dogs and it isn’t exactly the best environment to make sure that no dust particles get behind the glass during the repair. So we picked up his Macbook, and dropped it off to him while he was out at Triumph Brewery a few hours later. Hopefully Garrett and his computer made it home safe!

Amanda gave us a call on Thursday from Washington D.C. Her dog had pulled her backpack off of a table, and her 15-inch Unibody Macbook Pro was inside. Obviously, falling inside of a backpack is never a good thing for a Mac laptop to do. Amanda opened up the screen, and to her dismay, the glass had been shattered. Luckily, after a quick Google search, she saw that we do Unibody glass replacements, but the closest branch that does those repairs is here in Philadelphia.
Amanda called up the Philly branch at 888-420-9996 and set up her repair for Sunday. She drove in with her family and made a day trip of it. She dropped it off at 11am, and once her family was done with lunch at 1pm, she came and picked up her Macbook Pro. Good as new!

Marney gave our Detroit office a call last week about her son’s 13-inch Macbook Unibody. He had cracked the LCD and they needed it repaired as soon as possible. Because only our Philadelphia branch does glass and LCD replacements, we overnighted Marney a laptop box with a prepaid overnight label inside. She shipped it back to us, and we performed the repair in about 2 hours.
The Macbook was put back into the laptop box, and overnighted back to Grand Rapids. All-in-all, it took 2 days of transit and the three-way overnight shipping was included free of charge.
Everything went well with the repair, but we were surprised that when we booted up the Macbook, Window 7 booted up instead of Mac OS!

We got a call last week from Sarah at Adorn Jewelry on 2nd street in Northern Liberties. She was on a flight the previous week and at the last minute, US Airways made her check her bag last minute. She ended up putting her 13-inch Unibody Macbook Pro in the bag, even though she knew that it was probably a bad idea. 3 and a half hours later, she got off the plane, got her bag, went home, and opened her computer to find that the glass was cracked!
Luckily for Sarah (and US Airways), she found an affordable company to replace the glass on her Unibody Macbook Pro…us! We met her at her apartment/shop on 2nd street in Northern Liberties, and she made some awesome custom jewelry while we replaced her glass.
An hour later, and she was back in business. She told us “This is so convenient. There was no way I could have the time to go get this repaired.”
