Switching your major from Computer Science to Literature is easier than putting up with a broken Macbook screen for a year of college…

Shaine emailed last night, explaining that she has been putting up with a “blue ink” problem on her black 13-inch Macbook. She cracked it about a year ago and was using it because the damage wasn’t that bad. But lately it has gotten a lot worse and one of her friends told her about us. She’s going back to school in a few weeks, and she desperately needs her Macbook to be fixed because she is writing a lot of papers these days. In fact, she just switched her major from Computer Science to Literature, so having a 50% visible screen will definitely not cut it.

We met up at the Starbucks on Germantown Ave in Chestnut Hill and a half an hour later her Macbook was back in action. Ready to write papers. Too bad they don’t write themselves…

If someone else tries to fix your Macbook before we do, there may be parts missing…

Vida gave us a call last weekend about her white Macbook. She broke the screen last October(!) and has been using her desktop iMac ever since. She just landed a sweet new job in Boston, so she decided that it was finally time to get her Mac fixed. She had seen our Septa platform ads a while back, so she knew exactly who to call.

But actually, she had taken it to a local “Apple authorized repair center” in the Philadelphia area (we won’t say who) who said that they could do it. After removing the bezel (the white frame around the screen), the “repairman” removed the sleep magnet, forgot where to put it back, and decided that he couldn’t do the repair. Not knowing that the sleep magnet was removed, Vida closed the Macbook (expecting it to go to sleep) and brought the Macbook home. She gave us a call, and we came out to her apartment to do the repair.

Everything went well until we went to turn the Macbook on after the repair. The screen lit up with a gray circle with a cross through it, which means that there is something definitely wrong with the hard drive. What we think happened was that since the Macbook wasn’t truly asleep, the hard drive became damaged from the computer being moved around.

We replaced the hard drive at cost ($60) and spent a day moving all of her files from her old corrupted drive to the new 320GB drive (for free!). Needless to say, Vida was super excited to have her screen fixed, all of her files back, and her hard drive upgraded for free. What can I say, we’re kind of awesome.

You can check out Vida’s review of us on Yelp here.

South Carolina is the newest state to get a Macbook screen repair courtesy of CrackedMacScreen.com!

Brandi emailed us from Greer, South Carolina with (you probably guessed it!) a cracked LCD on her white 2.4 ghz Macbook. Brandi is a student at Clemson University, and is going back to school in August. She needed her Macbook fixed as soon as possible, so she knew that the free overnight shipping (both ways) would work out perfectly for her.

We emailed her an overnight label and she took her Macbook to FedEx. We received it the next day, performed the repair, emailed her before and after photos, and overnighted it back to her. She’s definitely ready for the Fall semester!

Laura is a grad student at LIM College, so obviously she needs a working computer at all times. This became a problem for her when she dropped her white Macbook, shattering the screen. She had a paper or two to write, so she needed it fixed ASAP!

She hopped on one of the school computers and did a quick search for New York City Macbook screen repair and found us on the first page. After a few emails back and forth, we scheduled her repair for the next day and met her on campus. Her Macbook was back in action in about 30 minutes.

CrackedMacScreen.com is more dependable than the whole country of Korea!

Amanda lives and works in Korea, but was home for a week in Philadelphia to move out of her old apartment. She had broken the screen on her 13-inch white Macbook while she was in Korea but couldn’t find a dependable place to get it repaired. She had actually left it at a repair facility for a whole month but they said that they couldn’t fix it. She knew that she would be home this particular week, so she looked us up online and we exchanged a few emails.

We met her at her freshly cleaned out apartment and had her Macbook repaired in about 30 minutes. Take THAT Korea!
